REZA KUNIMOTO: INVESTMENT BANKER TURNED EDUCATOR

Have you ever felt that life has a way of side-tracking your passions?

That’s what happened to me.  Back in my school days, I was dead set on either becoming an inspiring teacher or a school counselor.  I was convinced that shaping young minds would be the ultimate fulfilling gig. I even went ahead and got myself a degree in psychology to prepare for this grand journey.

But as fate would have it, I veered off the path and ended up spending more than a decade working in what could be described as the most opposite industry from education imaginable.  I worked as an equities trader in the financial industry.

During this entire time though, I couldn’t shake the thought of becoming a teacher.  To be someone who challenges and motivates young minds.  It felt like a calling that I just couldn’t shake off.

Life has a funny way of reminding you of your ambitions.

After having children, I gave it more serious thought.  I made the bold choice to leave the finance industry and am now taking the plunge and diving into a Master’s in Education program, determined to make my long-held dream a reality.

I’m thrilled to share my journey with you. There’ll be highs, there’ll be lows, but there’ll for sure be plenty of lessons to soak up along the way.  And I couldn’t be more excited about them all.

Thank you for visiting my site.

I hope you explore it further to learn about my path so far and my journey ahead.
